Army Emergency Relief (AER) Scholarship
Awards are based primarily on financial need according to income, assets, family size, special financial obligations, and circumstances. Secondary issues are academics and leadership. This scholarship is open only to dependent children of Army soldiers on active duty, retired, or deceased while on active duty or after retirement. Defense Commissary Scholarship
Children of active duty, Reserve/Guard and retired military personnel may apply for a $1500 through the local commissary. Eligibility, including survivors of deceased members, will be determined using the DEERS data base. All applicants must be US citizens. The application is available at your local commissary or can be downloaded from www.commissaries.com.
Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Scholarship
The Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated Germany Alumni Chapter offer three $1000 scholarships to young adults of service members and DOD sponsored civilians. Academic excellence and participation in activities outside the classroom are the major criteria for these awards. Pick up an application packet in the Guidance Office.
National Academy of American Scholars, Inc. offers:
One 4 year Easley Merit Scholarship of $4,000
One 4 year Easley Merit Scholarship of $3,000
One 4 year Easley Merit Scholarship of $2,000
To American high school seniors who have exhibited outstanding academic excellence and personal integrity. The application is available in the Guidance Office or may be downloaded from the website www.naas.org.
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Scholarship
Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. of Theta Rho International Chapter offers scholarships to DODDS seniors who have a GPA of 2.7 or higher, intend to attend college Fall 2008, show proof of good character and good standing in the community and school. The application may be picked up in the Guidance Office.
Phi Delta Kappa (PDK) Scholarship
Scholarships worth up to $2500 will be awarded by PDK. Website is www.pdkintl.org/awards/pros_eds.htm.
Stars & Stripes Scholarship
Stars & Stripes offers three $1,000 scholarships available to a 2008 DoDDS high school graduate. One will be picked from each of the military branches of service and will be awarded to students seeking to major in journalism or mass communications. The application is available in the Guidance Office or downloaded from the website: www.estripes.com.
ThanksUSA Scholarship
ThanksUSA offers $1000 scholarships to dependent children of Active Duty personnel age 24 and under. Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of financial need, academic record and demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities. Preference will be given to students who have studied a foreign language. Applications can be made online at: http://www.thanksusa.org/main/scholarships.html
TROA Base/Post Scholarship
The Retired Officer's Association (TROA) will award 100 grants of $1000 each to dependent children of active duty member of the USA Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, or United States Public Health Service. Applicants must be under the age of 24 and working on his or her first undergraduate degree. Selections made on scholarship, citizenship, and leadership. Applications must be made online at www.troa.org. Go to "Educational Aid" and then proceed to the education page for a listing of "Base/Post Scholarship".

USA Funds Access to Education Scholarship
USA Funds Access to Education Scholarship awards $1500 for full-time undergraduate students and $750 for half-time undergraduate students. The scholarships may be renewed annually until students receive their final degree, or until the total award reaches $6000, whichever comes first. Awards are based on past academic performance and future potential, leadership, participation in school and community activities, work experience, career and educational aspirations and goals. The applications may be picked up in the Guidance Office or downloaded from www.usafunds.wiredscholar.com.
